Forum reputation power

Am curious if anyone knows how the forum rep power is done.

If you got to settings and scroll down it shows how much you can give out?(i assume)

like mine is Latest Reputation Given (Reputation Power: 4)

How does this change, go up ? and does it go down?

Reputation power is the amount of points you are giving when you give reputation. The more reputation you have, the more points the receiver gets if you rep them.

So if you have a reputation power for 4, and gave me rep, i would receive 4 points. Because my reputation power is 5, I'd give you 5 points for a +1 rep.

It just confuses me, i just see it as the same use as the in game's forums "thanks"

FORUM REP MEANS EVERYTHING TO ME

Although idk how it goes down, I thought it was with infractions. But I have more infractions than posts and I'm still on a distinguished road.
