How do I convert a mixed village into pure offense?

Or pure anything really.

My startup has been a bit rocky with a few tribes declaring war on me personally, as a result I ended up with a ton of defensive troops and cats and this and that in my village. Things have quietened down now and I pretty much want to get rid of all these useless spears/swords/archers and replace them with axes.

Is there some way to get rid of these things? I was thinking I could throw them one by one against a walled barbarian (or one of my own villages) but that sounds like it would take forever.

If you got more offense than defence I suggest throwing your defense at a village you'd like to noble, then noble it using your offense.

If you got more defense I suggest making it a defensive village.

Use those "useless" spears/swords/archers as fake however i suggest you keep them to support your tribe mates and in case somebody tries to clear you

You should definately keep whichever you have less off untill the farm gets full.

Yeah Two-Face has answered this for you. Specialise the village into the type (defence or offence) troops you have most of. So if you have majority of it as sp/sw/ar then make it defence and use the axemen to clear the small red dots around you while using the LC to farm them.

However, if it's the opposite then whenever an ally is in need of support. send the defensive troops you want rid of. This way, you'll be helping a friend, keeping your tribe alive, gaining ODD points while losing a few troops.

You wont gain ODD by supporting a tribe mate. Unless this server is setup differently than .net

But I would either keep them as extra D (support a newly nobeled vil or tribe mate) or slowly hit barbs. This might raise your ODA up a bit, but mainly only make room when your farm gets full (on lvl 30). No reason to waste troops until your farm is getting full. So basically do what 2 face recommends

If you are changing to a defensive village, I suggest keeping all LC... otherwise it is like getting rid of mines to make room for defense.

Honestly it's easier to just keep your first villa Defense and make your second a Nuke

whats better defense or offenes im sure you can hold much more defense so it would take bout 2-3 nukes to take you out i think lol

There is no better really. It all comes down to numbers, strategies and then just pure dumb luck. However when gaining a second villa I recomend keeping the first one as Defense since most players will have a much higher rate of defense to offense at this point. Thus make your second villa a nuke and your first defensive to cover the growth of the second since it will have little if no defensive troops as it will be a nuke. In your first villa keep your LC if you decide to kill off your offensive troops as LC are massive farmers and can be used to spur growth in both villas until the second has a sufficiant income from farming and normal production to break off it's growth expansion from the first one. In short follow these steps to

1. Noble second Villa
2. Cointinue farming with first villa however instead of building all these defensive troops in the second villa to farm simply ship surplus to your second villa
3. When second villa has enough LC and production to support itself stop shipping and farm with LC
4. Kill off useless offensive troops in first villa but Keep LC untill you have enough production that you don't need them

Hope this helps.

Horrible advice.

First village should by all means be offense and it should stay that way. Defense at this stage is not likely to help you at all. Most good players near you will be pure offense or close to it. Pure offense at the village stage is going to own your defense. With first village being defensive you essentially damage the first player who attacks you's nuke. With first village being offense you dodge their nuke, backtime it, kill it, and lose a very small chunk of your own. The choice is obvious.

I make my first 2 villages offense and my third defense.

This.
There was a very interesting thread on .net where people were throwing around ideas about how to balance out offense and defense in early world strategy. Right now, fully offensive players will outgrow fully defensive players in early world while defensive players have the advantage as the world gets older. Some of the suggestions were pretty interesting like making HC available sooner and less costly.

I make my first 2 villages offense and my third defense.
I've always gone offensive first and then a defensive but I will be making the first two offensive if I ever do start-up again. I find the defense just sits there when I could be having another village pumping out LC. Maybe i'm not good enough at making enemies :)

i think it all depends on ur area, if i find myself with two or three good players near me i might make second defensive, and third offensive, however if there is no threat nearby and tribe is unlikely to go to war soon i have in the past gone to ten villages all offense before building a defensive one cause i was told i'd be kicked from the tribe if i didn't

Basically it all depends on ur surroundings, no one has yet to find the perfect stratgy that works the best all the time

Agreed. But, going 100% D in first village never works if yo have decent neighbors :p On the other hand a mixed first village can work decently well.

If you arent bothered about just losing the troops the easiest way is
1, support a barb village with half the troops you want to lose
2., attack the same village with the other half
3, withdraw remaining troops
4,carry out steps 1 and 2 until troops wiped.

If you can't be bothered to kill your troops on an enemy, use this extremely long method?

if it was me,1. i would kill off the Defence once you have a full farm by supporting your tribe, fakes etc - you will be surprized at how fast it goes. 2. bulid your offence- and if people attack you - just dodge.. and if they send cats/rams.. backtime them.

I would say this depends on things like:

¤ Your activity.
¤ Your own kind of strategy (are you a offensive of defensive player)
Etc.

If your very active i wouldnt suggest you to play only with defensive troops. More likely offensive troops.

Because if you whipe your whole neighbourhood out there´s nobody out there who can noble you if you play your cards right.
