Okay - from the start, this has not been a bad world. I stayed on and played another round because I was curious about the watchtowers and how it would affect game play. I've stayed playing much longer than I wanted to because there have been some good chats with people on all sides and because I didn't want to be the one that creates a hole in the front line. It's difficult when you want to run the white flag up the mast and say, 'Well done, you've won' because you're not sure other people aren't still enjoying the game and that could spoil it for them.

Now this conversation has been started I feel more comfortable saying that this is it. I've lost - we've lost and you have won. I've never enjoyed that long slog towards 80% dominance and see no reason why anyone else need do it. I think that is part of my message to Innogames. I get tired of playing because it can get so long and drawn out after the battle is lost. I appreciate that it means there is more time in which I might accidentally click on that button to start another world, but the reality is that I want a much longer break.

I wanted to share my perspective on this world though. As many will know, we started it with a group called GITS that planned on being around until the end. We pretty much achieved that, even if we did merge as a group into Hunter before the end. I'm not saying that it was a mistake, but fairly early on we came to an agreement with a couple of other tribes to bring them along with us, in some cases teaching them the ropes of the game. One or two of those stayed the course with us, but in most cases, players were I think surprised how much more time the game took as they became more successful. It all took much longer than we had hoped, though.

We had begun with a recruitment strategy that was to only take players that we were sure would be 100% committed, but with the smaller tribes around that isn't always easy to manage and we began accumulating some dead weight. That set the tone for a long while and we were always having to take out internals without losing the focus on ongoing wars. I don't think we ever had an op with more than 50% participation and that was the primary reason why we lost. Anyway, as time went on we consolidated the three tribes into one and I think we managed it without 'doing the dirty' on anybody, which was something I was quite proud of. Everyone had help, internals, freebie villages and support to make each next step and offers of merges and co-plays to carry on.

Then finally we had to choose between OLD and HUNTER. One we'd had a NAP with and a difficult front and the other made less sense geographically. We chose HUNTER and my personal expectation was that we would have more active players to maintain an active tribe with until the end game.

We started off quite well in that war, considering that we had hardly any front line and managed to move down and take a few villages. We didn't take many, though, as the combination of the watchtowers and prior warning of ops made achieving surprise impossible. There are people denying it now, but at the time I know I had gleeful messages from OLD members telling me about our own ops and was also sent screenshots from the Hunter forum. They might not have been particularly helpful in the short term, but they created arguments about what would be effective. Our earlier strategy of just attacking, regardless, which had won other worlds, fell by the wayside as we waited for ops that only half the tribe joined in with. We also had disasters such as when we allowed one inexperienced but enthusiastic player (I'll be mentioning no names) to organise an op. When we managed to kill a lot of troops without taking many villages he suddenly vanished, creating a hole in our front line and proximity to previously 'safe villages'.

That was only one player, but where we had been pushing into the OLD front line to make opportunities, we then stopped attacking and didn't take advantage, while OLD then got a lot of villages that were in areas we thought safe and so our support was split. Even then, we should have been able to win, but ops were still only 50% participation after waiting weeks to organise them. The last stage was merging the active GITS players with active HUNTER players, but we hadn't realised how much dead weight HUNTER were carrying. I suspect we all did that quite well as OLD players would happily chat about what so-and-so had said without realising accounts were being sat. We never cured the rot, though. If anything Hunter were even less good at using the sat accounts effectively and nukes were not sent and defence not used when it could have been.

Regardless of how we got here, the bottom line is that I'm saying well done to OLD and I reckon you've won this world. You know how many accounts you had to sit, but the impression from our side was that you had more of your accounts active most of the time and that people participated in ops when they were asked to. I didn't like the way you gained an advantage with spies - and neither did a lot of your own players - but at the end we lost because we stopped attacking and that was not just because some players left.

The biggest achievement for OLD was showing how you could still take villages on a watchtower server as at one stage we had begun to think it had made defence too easy.

Next time we play we'll have to focus again on a small group of players and not worry about filling a tribe up. We'll follow the same strategy of avoiding conflict until we have a core area sorted and multiple villages each and then we'll attack. Relentlessly - except when consolidating. We won't get spies in other tribes, because that spoils the game for us, but hopefully if we're tight knit enough no-one else will spy on us.

Watch towers indeed made this game a lot easier well atleast for the defender. And because of that attacking is a bit more complicated than it used to be so you got to think of a different tactics and so on. Now every noob can defend if they are active enought, uses WT in a proper way and have moveable deff to snipe, stack with.

Worth mentioning that HUNTER recruited smithy (and by extension oopsupsideyerhead as they merged soon after), CommradeG, hunskelper, hitman, killakombo and Duffers directly from GODS who you were at war with at the time. Also tried to get Me, gusscatt, Alv, jcbutler, lithorlorn, Jam P and broon (also all GODS members) to side with you guys in the war against OLD.

Its funny that I decided to join OLD as I saw Hunter as the dirty back stabbing tribe for recruiting half my tribe while at war with us. In that sense I can see why Hunter players are pissed off from recruitments. But a serious case of pot, kettle, black imo

I find the killakombo case particularly amusing as it seems to be a big deal that he joined us from you while at war but no mention of him joining you from GODS while at war?

And you can claim you only did it because you knew the war with GODS was already won, or they asked to join etc etc but we in OLD can make the exact same case against you :)

Ultimately this game boils down to teamwork and activity and we beat you on both counts. There were ops where we had multiple players pulling all nighters in order to send attacks to land at the correct time. Never saw any such thing from HUNTER during their ops which seemed to have more of an all day landing window for ops rather than a set time. Made it easy for us to shift D around and defend. You live, you learn... better luck next time.

said i wasnt going to check in but i did. nice to see your still logging Void. I wasnt sure. for a start pulled several over nighters with timed attacks. but as discussed previously tribe activity was a big issue for us so with just a few of us participating obviously it was easy for you to defend. and in regards to the us recruiting gods you miss one key thing. look at how many players we recruited from gods... now if we had that many spaces in the tribe (we didnt kick anybody to recruit) what does that say about how we were doing activity wise. we were down to 14 accounts at one point (over half of those were not fully active). if we hadnt have recrutied the world would have been over months ago.the difference is olddidnt need to recruit several of their recruits as they were doing fine from an activity/participation point but they recruited anyway. like i said before you beat us on activity and team work for sure but dont act like recruiting gods was an act of back stabbing. it was an act of trying to stay a float due to quiter after quiter after quiter.

What would give you the impression I wasn't logging anymore?! Yes to be fair yourself and if I recall Zara sent attacks overnight.

Two sides of the one coin, as a member of GODS at the time why should I care about your problem of a lack of members when you recruited ours, tearing the tribe apart? Colour it what way you will but whatever way you say it the opposing side will always see it differently. Your reasons for recruiting the GODS members were valid, but will always be viewed as a cheap steal by those who didn't join no matter what you say.

In the same way you will never see our side of the argument for recruiting. Some of you guys act as if its the sole reason you guys lost the war, Killa was definitely a big switch but he was only in your tribe for what? like 2 weeks? And switched 2 days after the war started (ie. the same day that TRD, soop, Punk switched to join you guys!) but of course those guys had valid reasons for joining Hunter but we're rats for letting killa come the other way? ... come on give me a break... Then we move to Godspeed, he lasted about 2 weeks before being internalled. Finally Lord eni... a recruit made once it was clear the world was done and dusted and we just wanted to speed up the slog to 80% dominance.... even if we maintained the rate we've been taking villages over the past few days (~100 villages a day) it would still take us over a month to finish this off. Some of us want to enjoy our summer rather than spend it flogging dead horse...

So yeah... you guys can say we recruited to win the world if it helps you sleep at night but at the end of the day its bs... simple as that

And this was not directed at you beaver but just an address of points I saw made in this thread, you at least seem to acknowledge that we had a higher average skill level across the tribes.

i never said you recruited to win the war. if you read back my previous comments i said olds activity and team work beat us. i was annoyed about the killa as he blatantly joined to get info then left. he had no intentions of staying with us but that is what it is. i was annoyed about eni because yes old were winning but i was enjoying the fight even if it were busy times for me in rl. you ended my game instantly by recruiting eni because my bl was completely exposed (but thats ok as long as it fits with your schedule). and more annoying after we could have removed him with ease when we merged with gits but he asked us to leave him be so he could just chill (i assumed for flags) and in return he wouldnt be joining either side. iv already had it confirmed from the council of old it was always his intention to join old. so eni lied to buy him time which is lame.

Should have just left OLD to be nobled out by the liths in the first place rather than giving them the chance to merge into those snakey REFORM noobs and growing again :s

im not even concerned the world ended in a loss tbf. just annoyed it ended with recruitment from our backline because it suited them to not carry on fighting over summer rather than my game ending when i wanted my game to end.

OLD were snakey backstabbers the entire world, doesn't surprise anyone that they'd do something like recruit in the backline to "end the world" rather than enjoying the game and fighting it out to the end ;)

I never said YOU said we recruited to win the war, I meant others did.

Don't worry there Foxtrot we're enjoying ourselves a lot :) Please keep commenting as if you are relevant to this world anymore though... your bitterness is amusing to read

Okay so if I understand things correctly:
    • It's okay to recruit from the enemy if they've only been in the tribe for 2 weeks
    • It's okay to recruit from the enemy if you want to finish the world quickly
    • It's okay to recruit from the enemy if the player you recruit gets internalled after a few weeks
Oh, come on... Don't try to justify your recruitment. You can't argue that your recruitment wasn't dirty. I'm not saying our recruiting of TRD and PnP weren't nice, but for real, Killakombo even admitted openly he was spying for you guys. Godspeed made the whole western front fall apart, so don't come and say that recruit failed, and recruiting Lord Eni was just the end of it. Ruined the world completely.

I'm not saying you wouldn't have won without recruiting these players, you probably would have, but it just made the world a lot more boring and hopeless. You didn't need to recruit Godspeed, you didn't need to recruit Lord Eni, we could have continued with a nice and fair war.

So yeah, a pretty bitter ending to an otherwise fun world.

    You forgot
    • It's okay to recruit the enemy if you are short on players yourself
    as you did to GODS.

And your whole 2 weeks thing with killa holds no water as he changed sides the same time as TRD and Punk did and they had been in OLD for longer than killa had been in Hunter ... you can't simultaneously say sarcastically that "its ok to recruit the enemy if they've been in the tribe for two weeks" when you did the exact same thing... so at least drop the hypocrisy there. I don't know anything about spy accusations but i'd be surprised if TRD, soop and Punk went to Hunter and didn't share any info they knew about OLD plans and even if Killa did spy... he joined us 2 days into the war so he could have only given info on 1 op, which would have been your first one... hardly make or break stuff in a war that has spanned nearly 5 months?!

Anyway I can see your point of view and do agree that perhaps it was unnecessary.

I originally commented in this thread because there was ridiculous bias and exaggerated claims that suggested the only reason we won was because of 3 recruitments (although you'd swear we recruited half the world from some of the earlier posts) that completely took away from the hard work and dedication the players in OLD put in that simply, on average, was more than the majority in Hunter did.... Now there at least is acknowledgment that we were winning the war for other reasons as well...

one final act... for the giggles.

decided to dump all my nukes on Eni for the giggles. So did a few others. last min decided to send trains so got them built over night and launched them to land several hours after the nukes. I so couldnt be bothered to time them. OMG! we actually capped several. Thats embarrassing. there were hardly any escorts which would have been picked up by his wt so all he had to do was dodge our nukes (very easy seeing not really timed).Shocking. Didnt bother to stack them after because again cba. Just demonstrates that if it wernt for Eni's lies to keep him safe and us being foolish to allow him to just chill and sit it out we would have nobled him out with ease. Wouldnt even have been a challenge.

Oh and was not a fan of the co player (who isnt playing this world) logging into red.dragon account passing the sit to cods so cods could pull the support from my vils and send red.dragons nukes at us. That was not cool, dirty and against the rules. Shame on both the red.dragon player who logged into a world he isnt playing to pass the sit and for cods using the sit to cause detriment to our tribe. shame on you i say, shame.

Like beaver said, the story continues...

So, yesterday the original owner of the account The.Red.Dragon (who did even play this world and hadn't logged in for many months) decided to suddenly log in. This person decided to attack his tribe mates, for no reason what so ever. Very weird since he doesn't even play this world.

Oh well, we could deal with that. But then he passed the sit over to a member of OLD (Codsamunts). The sit was accepted at 19:19 and ended 20:30.

Between these times the following happened:
    * Support located in tribemates front villages was withdrawn
    * Support stationed in the account's own front line was withdrawn
    * Attacks were sent against tribe mates killing the accounts own nukes and also wasting the tribe's defence
    * Attacks were launched shortly after the support had been pulled back on some of those villages

    The rules states the following:
"Account sitters that intentionally destroy or seriously damage an account they are sitting will be punished. This includes suiciding troops, downgrading buildings, or supplying information about the account to a third party."

This is a clear violation of this rule. Not only did the account sitter (Codsamunts) intentionally damage the account by withdrawing support from front line and killing nukes on own tribe mates, he also intentionally damaged the account's tribe (HUNTER) by attacking us and withdrawing support from some members as well.

It's also suspicious that shortly after support has been pulled back attacks are getting launched on those exact villages, which suggests the player shared this information to others. It could be a coincidence, but it surely is suspicious.

We have reports to prove everything of this is true, so if you don't believe I will be happy to share them all with you. So it is a mystery why Codsamunts isn't banned. It's all crystal clear to me. And now The.Red.Dragon account has joined OLD... Anyting for a quick world victory...

Let's see what the next move is by OLD. To be continued...

Zara i appreciate your bitter about not being able to take villages off me but there's no need to go making up stories now is there
