As far as I found anything, go to members on the bottom menu:

Then click on the arrow next to forums to get the dropdown menu:

there you both have your answer.

Don't ask me how/why it works in such a convoluted totally broken way, I don't know what we can do about it or even IF we can.

"Recent activity" shows all the latest posts.
I find it quite convenient for navigating the new forums.
