Dear players,

We'd like to give a quick reminder about privacy and security when running quickbar scripts as well as introduce a new rule for developers of scripts.

To keep the game fair for all players, the Tribal Wars team periodically reviews scripts used by players to make sure they are permitted and have not been changed to perform activities that would violate our rules or harm the safety of your account. If you're using scripts found in our approved scripts forum then this change has no impact on you and there is no need to worry.

Use of any kind of illegal script may perform actions without your knowledge or extract and misuse data from your account. Our Support Team will not be able to revert any damage used by such an external script.

To aid us in reviewing scripts, we've added a new rule under the section "§6) Bots & Scripts":

"4. The source code of used scripts must not be obfuscated in any way and must be accessible by the Tribal Wars team."

If you're a developer of scripts, please make sure any scripts you are hosting are not minified or obfuscated in any way. Additionally, your server should not perform any authentication check that might prevent the script source from being shown, such as password protection or an IP whitelist. We ask that you do this within the next 6 weeks.

We're aware that as a player, it's not fair for you to be penalized if a script developer doesn't make the required changes in time. We'd like to reassure players that no bans will be made against accounts just for using an obfuscated script - we'll only be blocking the scripts from being used in the future.

Best Regards,
Your Tribal Wars team
