ye but still, unless all your farms were heavy with wood, you would still have the problem of having too much iron/clay? did you just send these to your D villages?

I had a few bonus wood villages nearby. But yes, in the end I was rather heavily laden with iron and clay. Clay got used up by my maxed out villages making coins, and I sent the iron to villages mass producing HC.

All in all, it really depends on your starting location. If you have 8 barbarians surrounding your village all 1 field away, spears are more efficient. For 16 minutes more one way, you can carry 5 more resources per farm space. If your closest farm is 3-4 fields away, LC is always the preferred choice.

Have you seen anybody that's surrounded by 8 barbarians?
edit: One of my neighbours is but he's still growin slow as a snail. That n00b.
