Continue updates of railway system, with modern carriages and high-speed trains, bringing in experts from abroad (probably Japanese, they have an efficient rail network). Ensure that all 4 country capitals (As in, La Paz, Asunción, Santiago and Lima) are connected through the main line. $2.4 billion.
Extend the highway system even further in order to get Lima linked up to the other 3 country capitals through that main highway, with other sets of highways improved and built. $2 billion.
Bring in the housing scheme for Peru too, replacing the slums with sustainable housing that has access to basic facilities, giving eveybody an acceptable standard of living and more importantly, hopefully taking millions in Peru out of absolute poverty. $1.8 billion.
Improve the scale of fishing in Peru, providing modern fishing equipment for the many little fishing companies to be found there. $1 billion.
Improve medicine stuff, on recommendation of my health minister (If it works well, make sure he gets a nice bonus so he can churn out some more cool ideas :icon_razz
Get him to sort this out, since he seems to have some good ideas about it. $1.4 billion.
Begin the construction of a huge shipyard/port city (like Glasgow, or Portsmouth) near Santiago in order to prepare for the building of some huge ships, which will also provide income through more fishing and being a very manufacturing-based city thing. $1.9 billion. ETA 1 turn for cruiser production, ETA 2 turns for aircraft carrier production.
Bring in free primary and secondary education, especially Chile and Peru as I suspect it isn't there yet. Buy lots of equipment and build some new schools to cater for every infant in the union. $1.6 billion.
Build lots of clinics and hospitals in Peru to provide rural areas in particular with decent access to some sort of healthcare (yes, I'm aware it's free there btw, but building near them takes down their transport costs) $1.3 billion.
