Let’s modernize the road system. I want this done quickly, but effectively. All people should be able to use the roads, and any ‘major’ road will have to be paved. $2 billion
Change the country’s name to the “New Holy Latanic Empire” (New Christendom).
Begin emphasizing religion in the teachings of children. While this should not interfere with the advancement of science, they should all have a respect and practical knowledge of the teachings of God towards his people. $1 billion
Let’s fight some corruption that’s bound to have sprung up in the last couple years. $400 million
Modernize the industrial sector. $1 billion
I want the economy to begin switching to Manufacturing, instead of exporting petroleum. $1 billion
Refurbishing churches and other places of religious significance. $700 million
Refurbishing government buildings, that are in need of repair. $500 million
Let’s start a housing project for anyone in need. We’ll build some okay-sized suburban houses, assembly-line style, and assign homeless people to them, to live on a government meal plan and housing plan, for up to 9 months. At this point, they are expected to have steady employment, if they do, they can stay in the house paying taxes and an accurately-sized rent, but will be weaned off of the meal plan. They could also move, but they don’t have to. Anyone who has been finding odds-and-ends jobs will be given a 3 month extension. Anyone who doesn’t have employment by this time will be kicked to a volunteer shelter, until such a time that they can pay rent or somehow reapply for housing. When they are living in the houses, they will have rations of energy and water, so they don’t waste tax money on lavish outings. They won’t be too tight-of-budget, but they’ll get the point around that this isn’t a selfless charity; we’re trying to make productive workers out of them. $3 billion
Buy up any farms that are selling and convert them to large plantations, hiring a couple more people per farm than is “needed”, but enough to where profits are still good. $800 million
This should be used as a new propoganda/add/slogan/poster/national motto, too, ‘to hire more than are needed, so long as it’s affordable, so their families can eat too’.
Foreign Relations
Let’s build a new HQ for the ALBA memberstates. We’ll set it outside of the city, slightly, and we’ll make it slightly independent. Kinda like D.C. the U.S.A. $500 million
Appeal strongly to the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope to bless us in our mission to unite all of Christianity once more, as peaceful allies, working together towards the best interests of Humanity.
Let’s see if we can’t get some
pity merges going.
Peru – Peru and Ecuador may not have shared the best of relations in the past, but today is a new day. There are new governments in both countries. And our people and culture are very similar, as with all of South America, and even Central America. Together we could spread benefits through more of humanity. We’re both strongly Christian nations, why should we be separated, and competing to stay alive as governments, when together we could save so many more non-believers’ souls than we could alone. I ask Peru to honestly consider this, the ideal of a new, Latin, Chistendom.
Bolivia – Bolivia is also heavily Catholic, although not as high a majority as Peru or Ecuador. However, the same method should work well, as there will be no preference towards any sect or specific group of Christianity.
Paraguay – Paraguay is also strongly Christian. Even more Catholic than Bolivia, though. However, they have one of the highest population percentages that are Christian, with only .6% practicing indigenous religions, and 2.5% practicing some other religion.
Chile – I’m still playing the religion card, here. But, as coastal nations, we can appreciate the other’s frustration towards trying to expand our culture and influence through inland nations. Together we will be impossible to ignore, which many governmental bodies still do, even on our mission which will save all who so-much-as try to help themselves, and others.
Also appeal to Brazil and Argentina to strengthen ties, as Christian nations, we should stand together, but I’d understand any reluctance to join us, as larger countries, your influence is enough that you may lose world-power by merging with New Christendom.
Push for all countries in the ALBA to implement the SUCRE as their national currency.
Also appeal to have entrance into the ALBA a right for all South American countries, who should then use this right.
Lol I has NAP with Panama.
