The rules were not changed as it has never been a rule that mandatory account sitting is allowed.

An account belongs to the player and it is that persons choice as to who he/she allows to sit them. It was ever thus.

of course it's up to the owner of the account whether to give an account sit... but if the player refuses is the tribe allowed to kick them for it?

It seems to me the same as saying you can attack someone in your tribe but that doesn't mean there won't be consequences

a player is within their rights to say no to sitter request by me

but as a duke I see nothing in the rules that says I don't have a right to kick someone due to them refusing to give me an account sit

Surely a duke should take on players that they trust instead of needing to be a hitler about it? You should be able to take their word on what their build/troops are and go from there.

people can and do lie... if you know everyone you're playing with then yes you can just take them on their word but for most tribes that's not the case... they're faced with lots of players whom they've never met before so in the space of a few days how do you find out whether someone is worthy of your trust?

to blindly trust everyone is in my opinion naive

I'd rather find out someone is lying before I need them in a battle

Why would they refuse ? if they refuse it creates suspicion straight away. If you can't rely on them what good are they

I think volvic is saying that you shouldn't even need to request an account sit... just ask what their troop count and building levels are

Is is possible that some people might just think that they don't want anyone into their account's? If so just simply ask them their troop counts etc.
It could just be that the player doesn't know the person asking to see account well enough trust the person so they refuse.

Plus you never know... They could be someone who wants to help his/her tribe one moment, or your biggest enemy the next...

I myself have been asked to be sat many times, and told people if they want to know stuff they can simply ask me and I'll tell them, no problem.

There is that but if your in a tribe of people you dont know and go away for a week without being able to log in do you just leave the account and come back to nothing as you have been inactive or do you ask someone in the tribe to account sit ?

simple thing is if its part of the tribe policy and you want to be in that tribe then you allow it and maybe get a few pointers along the way.

Tbh I would probably ask the person I trusted the most to sit me, or whoever had the best rep for sitting people, or just get a friend to sit me, and ask the council if it was OK.

lord ashfordly call me paranoid but I'd find it hard to just trust anyone who I didn't personally know when it comes to troop counts... if you don't want to abide by a tribe's rules including random account sits then you wouldn't be allowed in a tribe where I am the duke... my style of leadership definitely isn't for everyone and that's fine... you just need to find a tribe that is better for you

Exactly, you can't trust anyone. I agree though, I wouldn't really trust anyone I didn't know with troop counts either :p
But between me and you, your leadership is probably a lot better than mine :icon_biggrin:

i got his form the in-game mod he said

Nobody can be forced to set someone as their account sitter. It is their account to do with as they please and it is their choice who they set as sitter, as long as they follow the rules.

Internal politics within a tribe are not something that we would normally get involved in. We would only intervene if there was breaches of the rules such as illegal trading of premium, scripts, pornography or extremely foul language or severe bullying (of a personal sort opposed to war actions).

I would not want to set a prescient of punishing people for how they run a tribe, so if leaders of a tribe wish to kick someone - that is their call.

If a player decides to set someone as sitter, that is their decision.

If a tribe decides to kick someone purely on the basis that they will not set someone as a sitter, then that in it's purest sense could be argued as a form of bullying - however in the same breath - I would say that the leadership should have other means of determining a players skills and if they chose to remove someone due to their other observations that someone is not a team player or is a risk to their tribe - that is just politics, and we would not look at it.

I hope that helps clear it up.

So basically you can not kick sum-one for not handing over there account sit to the leaders but all you have to say is you kicked them for for not being a team player,

which sum people would agree if you have nothing to hide why not hand it over, it says in the rules if the account sitter abuses the account they are sitting the will be punished,
