Which would mean you sacrifice useful Attacking Tech elsewhere.

Hence why chosing your Teching levels in each village is a required strategy.

Sure, you could risk going a full offensive Axe 3 LC 3 Ram 3 But that would only leave you 4 tech to play about with for your Defence.

Hence why in your offensive villages, you require to have a Mixture, for when the time comes you need to support yourself/recieve support.

but dude...

Maximum technologies:15
so if you upgrade in an attack village
Axe 3
LC 3
ram 3
spear 3
sword 3
that's 15 in total , that's perfect

Sp/Sw defence fails, takes ages to build, and is slower in giving out support.

I can kinda understand in some core offence villages, where you're either surrounded by tribe/yourself, and can risk not having HC as defence, but on the frontline, it's inevitably going to fail.

[ke]And this is why I prefer the 'new school' tech levels. Its to much of a hassle to make sure all of your villages have the right tech levels - I already know the right one (Spear 3, Axe 3, HC 3, ram 3, scouts 3). But its sooooooooo much of a hassle to go through all of your villages and painstakingly wait for each one (as only 1 or 2 researches can be qued at a time). Pass. >_>

Although, I will admit, getting level 3 axes and LC first in the beginning is bloody awesome.[/ke]

This.
Especially when your neighbours round you haven't altered their's and you get easy clearences :3

Although Kriegy, you can get 5 researches with Premium at a time, which kinda makes it easier....

[ke]You'd think, but I've nobled plenty of noob villages where their all 1's >_>

I dunno, for me, its just an extra head ache that TW offers you that I don't prefer to deal with.[/ke]

Personally i like scouts with my Nukes and rams dont make a large difference from lvl 1 to lvl 3.

But yeh simple techs would be soooooooo much better for me. :icon_cry:

I prefer myself

Spears 3
Swords 3
Axe 3
Light Cav 3
Scouts 2-3 depending on village and rams being made etc
Ram 0-1 depending if they have finished being made and scout level

I don't really like this 3lvls of tech. I prefer the worlds where you only research it and don't have to research it.
I'm partly annoyed and thankful to all the noops around me not researching their techs.
annoyed: because I have to do it ;(
thankfull: I loose less troops ;)

well... I still make a difference between offensive villages and deffensive villages.
offensive villages:
spear 3
sword 1 (my deff mainly consists of spears and hc)
axes 3
scouts 1
lc 3
hc 3
ram 1
cat 0

deffensive village (don't need to research the offensive troops there):
speers 3
swords 3
axe 0
scouts 3
lc 0
hcav 3
ram 0
cat 3

I really prefer Techs, rather that then those archers and pally weapons :/

[ke]Hmmm, tough choice, Techs or archers and pally weapons...

Well I HATE pally weapons, so I'd prefer Techs over pally weapons. But honestly I'd rather have no archers/no pally/no techs.[/ke]

I'm the opposite of most of the people here it seems. No smithy setup is a deal breaker for me, but I really am not at all fond of simple research and prefer either 15-tech or 10-tech.

ThoughI do agree that no archer and no pally is great. Preferably no bonus villages either.

A spear and sword defence takes time to build but if used well can do the job pretty well without too much rebuilding...

If your looking to stack an offensive village on a frontline you also have the option to make it a HC nuke you know? Less effective, a bit less stronger but on a frontline you dont need to clear enemies with those nukes, they are the nukes to finish what your long range stuff keep behind or to escort local nobles. It is also very useful to do some snipes on a frontline...
