This will gather momentum slowly, especially from next week, but fingers crossed, I shall be able to bring you the best, the worst and the outright silly of the Premier League!

First one from Chelsea Coach Roberto Di Matteo, when interviewed about his next opponents. and talking about new signing Michael Owen.

"He is a very good signing. I was a little bit surprised because he is not a tall player like all the others, but certainly a dangerous player and I am sure they will benefit from his qualities."

More on this and the apparent upset at Chelsea can be found here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19678089

Next up: Michael Laudrup tries to defend Match Fixing - albeit in a round about way!

And finally, a touching gesture? But will it happen?

So what else happened that was of interest?

Well for starters, there was the big show down at Anfield, football supporters around the globe had already heard about the shocking revelations of the Hillsborough disaster which claimed 96 lives, and thus tributes were given in their memory. Both managers applauded supporters for the toning down of their taunts, and the dispute between Evra and Suarez seemed to have reached a conclusion although this may only be temporary.

Going on today, we have John Terry's FA hearing, this comes hours after he announced his retirement from international football, follow this story here ----> http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19693874
