LC are mostly used to farm multiple barb villages with high distances or loot easily and fast resources from a player we have cleared.
Since none of the above are useful in this farming limit world, why research them? When barbs have walls, you either increase your troop count to increase your offensive power or you build rams. If you don't have many barbs with high walls or players that you are afraid might hit you soon, first choice is the best.
So you save res by not researching LC and recruiting them. I am not in favor of not building a stable at all, scouts are always useful, but you don't need a workshop or stable lvl 3 to farm efficiently for a long time.
