Weapon affects all troops in the village the paladin is currently in, be it supporting, or just built there.

WITH WORLD 17 SETTINGS ON .NET

This is over the top, so bare with me.

Attacker:

1,000,000 Axes
500,000 LC

Defender:

100,000 Cats -
1 Pally + Bonfire

Outcome

All axes dead
All LC Dead

76030 cats + Pally dead

Time to build

100,000 Cats - 55383 Days :icon_eek:
1,000,000 Axes -2263 days (
500,000 LC - 2135 days

Recources Needed

100,000 Cats - Wood 32,000,000 Clay 40,000,000 Iron 10,000,000
1,000,000 Axes - Wood 60,0000,00 Clay 30,000,000 Iron 40,000,000
500,000 LC - Wood 62,500,000 Clay 50,0000,00 Iron 125,000,000

Unless you were trying to kill them with lack of recources, It hardly seems worthwhile.

*Note* It's late, some calculations may be off.

That's w17 settings, not advanced pally weapons. Try a similar calculation using the sim on a world with the new weapons and you'll see the reasons behind it.

Attacker Units: 0 0 25000 0 0 10000 0 0 500 0 0 0 2.900.000 1.850.000 3.600.000 67.500
Losses: 0 0 25000 0 0 10000 0 0 500 0 0 0 2.900.000 1.850.000 3.600.000 67.500
Defender Units: 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2600 1 0 832.020 1.040.020 260.040 20.810
Losses: 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2453 1 0 784.980 981.220 245.340 19.634
Damage by rams: The wall has been damaged and downgraded from level 20 to level 0

it would be carnage for the unfortunate attacker:lol:

also if u somehow managed to get 5 billion CATS, ur defence would be impossible to kill.

If you had 5 billion axemen in defence, it'd be pretty impossible to kill. So I fail to see your point.

hey woodlandapple :)

"just suck it" was talking about supporting villages with your paladin and the paladins weapons still having an effect however this is untrue because if you were able to support a village with more than one pally and all the bonus' having an effect that would make it very unfair. Also there would be an option for multiple paladin bonus' in the simulator

Untrue. If a village is supported by a paladin with one of each and every weapon, then those weapons will work and grant bonuses to all troops (ie, spearmen, swordsmen, hcavs, cats etc will fight with the bonuses). If, however, there are two paladins with the cat weapon, then only one of them will take effect, the other will not grant a bonus (ie, not stackable).

has anyone tested the 2500 cats against a nuke ???

it is prob the best defence with the weapon ...

AttackerUnits:

20000:axemen:10000:lightcavalry:8000:mountedarcher:300:ram:

Losses:

20000 10000 8000 300

that was against 2500:catapult: and a :paladin:!!!!

so a attack that wouldnt even be able to be that powerfull lost , wow! :icon_surprised:

A single cimpleted nuke against 2.5 cats with the bonfire is useless.

The cat and pally strategy as said is one of the best but, does take the most time to build, cost alot more then usual troops and is only good for the protextion of one village unless you move pally around or kill it off every time if you have another cat vilage.

A cat defence provides more D per unit time than any other build, thus is technically the fastest building defence, even though it does not finish fastest.

As for cost, here are some sample defences, all with 20k pop exact.
8k/2k sp/hc costs 800.000 540.000 1.280.000
10k/10k sp/sw costs 800.000 600.000 800.000
12k/8k sp/sw xosts 840.000 600.000 680.000
2500 cats costs 800.000 1.000.000 250.000

Wood costs are pretty constant, and the iron cost is ridiculously less. The only field it costs more in is clay, which is in abundance in villages rebuilding nukes. The iron excess generated is also amazing for feeding nearby villages. I didn't go into archer builds, but generally they are a lot more expensive than the ones I mentioned anyway.

Now as for it only being good for protecting one vil, that is just nonsense. I'll demonstrate with a scenario. Imagine you have 10 defence villages for use to stack 4 villages. Without cat weapon you get 10/4 = 2.5D vils per village. With a cat defense as one of those D vils, one village is now covered. This leaves you with 9 D vils to defend 3, giving you 9/3 = 3D vils per village. This reduces losses. The cat defense may not defend more than one village directly, but indirectly it aids every village under attack in the cluster.

Are you sure?
Because when more than one pally from various players arrive with support, not all the weapons that are carried are put into play, surely? I can't remember ever noticing it on reports anyway.

Help Pages said:
The bonuses are added up if more than one item is available. If more than one of the same item is there, the bonus is still only used once.

If you want to read more look here.

I feel stupid.:icon_redface:

It's true, cats do look look longer to build but because you only build a ceratin number of them,if it basicly as long as a completed nuke build time.

Yes,cat's use up alot of clay with is almost always the resource that everyone gets rid of.

And as for the protecting only one vilage, you are also right, you can move your cats around and seperate them for better protection of villages.
