Oh really? I would have thought that further spacing amplified the usefulness of lc. Im sure your right though:icon_confused:

You know with the awesome supporting facts you mentioned:mad:

I never intended for this to be used like a guide. The intended purpose was to have new players able to start building while we were teaching them. You obviously cant teach them how to adapt immediately so they needed something to do in their villages while early game concepts were still being explained to them.

The original one had a classic and a pali start.

Here is the pali. I keep a copy of each in my email because people ask for them quite often

Iron 1
Clay 1
Timb 1
Statue (build the paladin and farm immediately upon completion)
Clay 2
Timber 2
Iron 2
Clay 3
Clay 4
Timber 3
Timber 4
Timber 5
Timber 6
HQ 2
HQ 3
Barracks 1
7 spears (start farming with spears and pali together as it is now profitable)
Build to about 20-40 spears while continuously farming. (Do not split up your spears from your pali until you have at least 35 spears)
Warehouse 2
HQ 4
HQ 5
Warehouse 3
Smithy 1
Smithy 2
Research Axes
Build about 15-45 axes and start splitting up your farming parties with axes included to reduce losses.
Farm 2
Market 1 (If you have excess iron, store it in a high ratio trade for later)
Barracks 2
Barracks 3
Smithy 3
HQ 6
Barracks 4
Warehouse 4
HQ 7
HQ 8
Smithy 4
Smithy 5
Barracks 5
Warehouse 5
Warehouse 6
Market 2
Market 3
HQ 9
HQ 10
Stable 1 (Option to research scouts and build 5 but can be skipped for later)
Stable 2
Stable 3
Research LC
Wall 1
Build LC
Farm Like Crazy (Build up to at least 50 before moving on)

Further spacing lowers the benefits of farming in general. I'm not saying don't farm, but you'll want mines higher than usual to compensate.

I think the difference will be negligible, but I build my res pits up anyway when I start, and I build defense. I know Im weird like that.

Whilst it's a very good guide, I think alot of people are going wrong by using it. The problem with these guides, and especially on this world, guides don't adapt to certain scenario's and it's general two options; mines or troops - in terms of early start up strategies.

I have Nauzhror in my 7x7, and for whatever reason he did, he's gone with 4-4-2 mines as well as a statue, despite having 4 greys within his 4x4 - 2 touching. Additionally, 7+ greys in his 8x8. In all honesty, I think a rax rush would have been far more suitable.

Not sure I would have done this, but since he joined late he may have assumed they were empty :icon_idea: Thus rax rush would not have been the best way to go especially if you were near there assuming at this point you would have dried them out.....

My paladin was killed on its very first farming run, after which I went meh, mines.

I see. Makes sense. I think I may have ran into the village you got spiked with after. I hit 2 spears and killed them.

I think although the PP Start up wasn't written as a guide and was meant to be used in conjunction with teaching. It still serves a purpose for those who are new to the game , have no idea how to play and haven't the capacity or time to go about working things out for themselves straight away.

The first world I used the start up I followed it to the letter and it was effective eventhough it was a world the plan wasn't intended for.
I then loosly used it on two other worlds as a reference and by doing this you learn to start adapting it (or if you're me winging it ! ) and come to your own way of working .
I would be concerned if some of the players posting in here were still using it... so the fact they aren't is irrellivant as obviously they have been playing long enough to know how to start up but I still think it is still very useful to new people with or without teaching... obviously you cannot beat PP lightning Start up and PP combined ... but half is still better than neither in my opinion.

and Nauz start a nauz v kebabe thread

im following this a bit(on the building perspective), but i think it will be superbly effective in this world, i have noticed that i have around 20 villages in my 7x7, and thats more then any world i have ever been, this world may be small in player numbers but they are closely grouped.

in which farming will be at it's most effective.
