Trainyard is an amazing game :icon_wink:
Personally, I feel that co-playing is absolutely fair. It gives you time for other RL stuff, while you still play competitively. If you want to have a life outside of TW you should have a co.
I understand why people may complain about it, but if they want to do well, they should get one themselves. If you don't like another player on your account, don't complain.
